Attention: Silver Creek Village Water Customers
Due to the continued surge in daily water consumption, the Silver Creek Village WSC Board of Directors is compelled to issue STAGE 5 EMERGENCY WATER RATIONING as of Monday, 3/27/23. This action will
continue until further notice.
March 27, 2023
ATTENTION! SILVER CREEK VILLAGE WATER CUSTOMERS
Water usage has been unusually high the past three weeks and the well cannot pump enough water to keep up the supply.
The storage tank holds 65 000 gallons and we are down to our last 5,000 gallons. Conserve water!!
If we do not cut back on our usage, we will run the well dry!
This is not a hypothetical situation!
We normally use more than 5,000 gallons each day
CONSERVE OR RUN OUT!

Alert from Silver Creek Village WSC: Notice of Violation Maximum Contaminant
Level Violation MCL, Single Sample / Nitrate
NOTICE OF VIOLATION Maximum Contaminant Level Violation
MCL, SINGLE SAMPLE / NITRATE
Dear Water Customer,
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) March 10, 2023 notified the Silver Creek Village WSC TX0270021 public water system that the drinking water being supplied to customers had exceeded the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for nitrate.
The U.S Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) has established the MCL for nitrate to be 10 milligrams per liter (mg/L) based on a single sample, and has determined that it is a health concern at levels above the MCL. Analysis of drinking water in your community for nitrate indicates a compliance value in quarter 1 of 2023 of 12 mg/L for EP001.
Infants below the age of six months who drink water containing nitrate in excess of the MCL could become seriously ill and, if untreated, may die. Symptoms include shortness of breath and blue baby syndrome. If your child is under the age of six months, the child must be given an alternative water supply for any consumption. Boiling the affected water is not an effective treatment for nitrate removal
.
Most consumers do not need to use an alternative water supply. However, if you have health concerns, you may want to talk to your doctor to get more information about how this may affect you. At this time, the health effects to fetuses of pregnant women are unclear. If you are pregnant, you may also choose to use an alternative source of water for drinking and cooking purposes.
We are taking the following actions to address this issue: Working with Engineers,
Designing and obtaining Permits & approval from LCRA and TCEQ to install a Surface Water Treatment plant to eliminate the Nitrates in your water.
Please share this information with all people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (i.e., people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.
If you have questions regarding this matter, you may contact Nelson Brock 512-715

NO OUTDOOR WATERING!
Please check that there is no leakage at your property. To do this, make sure you have no water using appliances on and check your meter at the front of your property. If it continues to move, you have a leak. This costs you every month for wasted water you don't use. Aso, if you live next to a home that is a vacation home, please check your neighbor's home to make sure they don't have a leak that could ruin their property.
Thank you. SCVWSC Board
